This is always a ridiculous task. I just want to get rid of this because it is troubling me. Apparently, you need to change a few settings.
Follow these steps:
- Click the lower-left corner to open the Start screen.
- Type Schedule tasks in the Start screen.
- Click Settings.
- Click Schedule tasks.
- Go to Task Scheduler Library → Microsoft → Windows → TaskScheduler.
- Right-click Regular Maintenance.
- Click Properties.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Check the box Allow task to be run on demand.
- Click OK.
- Right-click Regular Maintenance again to test whether it is running, and click Run.
- Right-click Regular Maintenance again and click End to stop the process.
Now the maintenance icon should be removed from the taskbar.
